A Loving Scratch

Peter was a worker with moderate income. His child had just started his school-life. It was Peter’s greatest ambition in life to own a car. He used to save some money every month for this purpose. He was granted a loan from the bank and could purchase a brand-new car.

He drove it home and proudly showed it to his wife and child as if it was his greatest achievement in life. He carefully washed away every speck of dirt on the painted surface of the car and was enjoying its beauty when he saw that his little child was scratching on the car’s painted surface using the sharp edge of a piece of rock. He was furious. He wanted to teach the child a lesson. In a rage he sprang upon the child, grabbed the stone and shouting words of curse, hit his fore-finger with the stone many times till his anger subsided.

What If?

Here are a some questions to ponder:

What if, GOD could not take the time to bless us today because we could not take the time to thank Him yesterday?

What if, GOD decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we did not follow Him today?

What if, we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when GOD sent the rain?

What if, GOD did not walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?

What if, GOD took away the Bible tomorrow because we would not read it today?

Value of Loving and Serving

PRAISE THE LORD

TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD

VALUE OF LOVING AND SERVING

The Bible tells us that there is a kind of love that is more honorable than great knowledge or faith. To love is to be devoted to one another; and true freedom is to serve one another in love. Love is absolutely essential; one is nothing without it. Jesus calls us to love God above all else as a matter of love. Genuine love is serving others. Be hospitable to one and other without grudging. We know very well that this kind of love can be hard to find. As members of Christ’s body we all need one another; each member must use his or her gifts to serve others. The spirit of the Lord helps us to love and serve one another. I Peter: 4 (9, 10) says cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.

God has given each of us a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. I Corinthians: 12 (4-7) says there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. Do not use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another: Galatians: 5 (13-15). We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. We should help others, do what is right and build them up in the Lord. For even Christ did not live to please himself.
