Sony Asks Gamers to Sign New Terms or Face PSN Ban

Sony is preparing to ban gamers from the PlayStation Network (PSN) unless they waive the right to collectively sue it over future security breaches.

The firm has amended PSN’s terms and conditions and users have to agree to them next time they log in.

The move comes months after a string of hacking attacks compromised over 100 million accounts of the PlayStation Network subscribers.

[Ha ha ha ha. What else can you expect from these nutcases? Instead of fixing their systems, they are now trying to arm twist customers. Wonderful way to do business!!!! I wonder when Sony will collapse...]

Warning All PSN Users: Accounts Are Still Not Safe

I want to make this clear to ALL PSN users. Despite the methods currently employed to force a password change when you first reconnect to the PlayStation network, your accounts still remain unsafe.

A new hack is currently doing the rounds in dark corners of the internet that allows the attacker the ability to change your password using only your account’s email and date of birth.

It has been proven to me through direct demonstration on a test account, so I am without any shadow of a doubt that this is real.

[LOL, it is only Sony who can have such innovative methods of resetting passwords without even verifying the accounts. And their CEO says the whole security screw up is just a hiccup. Wow. Well done Sony.]

You’ve got game.

7 Hottest Upcoming Video Games

Retail sales of video games have dipped slightly in 2010, but the overall quality delivered by the interactive entertainment industry has never been higher. Major titles like “Red Dead Redemption ,” “God of War III,” “StarCraft II”, “Mass Effect 2″ and “Heavy Rain” have already established this year as a watershed for consumers who plunk down the $60 that most top games cost these days.

It will be impressive enough if publishers are able to deliver a comparable slate this fall, but perhaps the biggest gaming story over the rest of the year is likely to be the introduction of new control systems for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 (called Kinect, on Nov. 4) and Sony’s PlayStation 3 (called Move, on Sept. 19). Kinect and Move will be reviewed separately along with their associated initial titles, but there are plenty of interesting games on the horizon that use traditional control schemes.
